Those maststeps; it took me ages to get them in the right spot; I think I quadruple checked the install and did it all over again.

Might be as good a time as any to form the tenon on the ends of your mast to fit the mortise formed into mast steps. If you wait too long it can become difficult to access.

You might check the main mast step location. It looks to be sitting on frame 28, where it should be frame 29.
If you look at Dan's pictures you'll notice there is one frame between frame 31 with the holes for the bilge pumps and the location of the mast step.

Ok, moved the mast step and processed the mast ends.

Hey Ted, looking straight down there should not be a gap that I highlighted in yellow. You need to move the mast step away from the rib with the two sump holes until the yellow lines are on top of each other. See FIG, 10 below. This is critical for the mast to line up with the deck opening.




This layout is critical as is all the other Fig's in the plans.

Ok I was trying g to align the junction of parts 43 and 47 with the center of the back frame half.

Parts 118-120 are etched on one side, see photo. The, Plans figure 11 don't show this etching. Im Assuming the etching goes up

I don't know if I made it clear. The mast step is now aligned with the frame.
