Novice builds Artesania Bounty 1/48

A document on Planking I just read suggests that the fairing process be carried out BEFORE gluing the frames onto the keel.
Any comments on that suggestion?
Regards, Phil

Hi Phil,
Which document gives this advice? I can see a start to the fairing process being done off the ship for the foremost and aft most bulkheads, but to get the final fairing so everything is exactly in line would be extremely difficult if attempted before all the bulkheads are fixed in place.

Thanks Allan,
Agree with your assesment.
The document was by Dirk De Bakker titled “Simple Hull Planking Techniques for Beginners”. Page 5 talks about dry assembly of the bulkheads.

That name sure brings back nice memories. I have not been in touch with Dirk in about fifteen years when he retired and decided to have a family walk about and as far as I know gave up ship modeling, at least at that time. We discussed many things and framing and planking framing techniques was one of them upon which we disagreed, a little. :) No reason not to give it a go, but if the bevel is overdone, a new bulkhead will be needed.
